Because "alcohol" originally comes from the Arabic word "al-kuhuul", Maegellon suddenly thinks, the Arabs have invented this liquid spirit. Also, Maegellon has been told about the rule of not ingesting these kinds of spirits among Muslims, so he inquires as to why this Arab dude rolls around in a drunken stupor.
