Black Moon and Shen Shen didn't really mix in the SunVillage, even though she was his foster mother in his teen years.
In my dôjinshi Shen Shen became that little shallow village gossip with an annoying high-pitched voice.
Also she could not understand why Black Moon had not inherited Rayeks and Winnowills powers...
This picture is sort of a spin off pic from the comic, an implicit scene blown up to an entire page.
ps: I have been (very politely, thank you, loving soul :D) noted on, that this particular rendition of ShenShen can be seen as very offensive to people of African heritage.
The possible violation lies in the style with the heavy hatching, that makes the character black-skinned.
I have later seen examples of very offensive and unfunny "caricatures" of Black people, on which same technique is used.
In the mind of many people this style has become synonym with racist imagery of African people.
With this knowledge, I will not employ this technique in the future (except, I have not found another good way of drawing Black people in a black/white ink piece yet :p).
