For those who entered Second Life after 2007, or haven't entered at all: Back then, most still used the typing override, that is why everybody holds their hands like that:
the eternal typing position.
Also, German media ran a campaign against SL, because they ran into some lamers who dressed up as children, and acting out a rape.
Since, people have been widely paranoid of child avatars, and believed anybody under seven feet was age-playing. And if you said you spent time in Second Life, you were a social outcast everywhere else.
Since that pic, Windlight arrived, the Emerald scandal ravished through the grid, Blue Mars rose, and Open Grid continues to tick away somewhere on the Intertubes...
