The Council of Elrond is a fan portal on the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, crafted by a person, who did not read the books before seeing the movies, and she hasn't gotten through those in the meantime, as she reports herself. Apparently she had used all her time to build this lovely page with her affiliates instead.

The page works on the GNU software PostNuke and is nicely customised. A lot of moderators keep the page a friendly place to be for Tolkien enthusiasts of the more expressional kind (read: Those, who think, Orlando packs nice facial features). There is fan activity in the form of art and stories, also a bulletin board on the languages in the language section, plus a fun section with contests and cartoons, and also a download section with wallpapers, fonts and cursors.

So the title "LotR News and Information" would not fit entirely, weren't it for the Film&Fun section and the Library itself, in which you can find the Trilogy book summaries and additional maps and weapon info. The page definitely wins by the language section.

It is safe to say, that the LotR craze has died down by now, and therefore this page is rather impressive, because there is still a lot of relevant activity on this page.
